Surviving After the Pandemic

Surviving After the Pandemic

Hopefully, as we head toward the end of the pandemic, the economy will not return to the “norm” as we once knew it.

.

It will not return to normal, if you are going to survive it, you need to lay the groundwork now.

.

Now is the time to build a foundation that can get you through this now and in the future.

.

Here are three action items that I recommend you take based on all my research.

First, Communicate

business people having a meeting = communication

You need to be in communication with your customers, prospects, and referral partners.   Let them know you are still in business.   Update your website and social media with your availability.   Send them direct mail pieces, email them.

.

Create a digital newsletter and use its advantage.   Make sure that you have a clean and up-to-date list with correct addresses and contact information.

Second, Build Relationships

Although as of this writing, things appear to be moving right along, we are all going through a shared experience that everyone can relate to.

.

Your customers and prospects will connect with you thru newsletter stories about how you and your family have found a renewed love for different activities.

.

Get a little vulnerable if it feels right for you. Be human.

.

Everything is up for renewal.  Right now, the entire world is in a massive state of change.  Customers are open to opportunities.  You’d better be reaching out to remind them you still are in business.

.

Don’t neglect your referral partners.  They are crucial right now.  How can you help each other at this time?

.

You must get personal, so people feel like they have a genuine connection with you.  Remember the old and true saying, “people want to do business with people they like, know, and trust”.

.

Third, Follow Up with Prospects

You cannot take your customers for granted anymore.   Any type of sales effort should end with getting the prospects’ full contact information.   Use a Customer Relationship Management software [CRM] to capture all the history that you may build up with the potential client and existing clients.   Don’t let them drop off the grid if they are not ready to purchase from you.

Not everyone will be ready at the time of your call.   It does not mean they won’t be interested in buying from you tomorrow.   You never know why someone didn’t buy right away, but it’s your job as the business owner to make sure your company is nurturing prospects and guiding them to make a buying decision in the future.   Send them emails about your company, maybe featuring some of your staff so they can get to know your company even more.

.

The above paragraph is a reflection of their budget changing with the current times.

.

As we keep moving forward in our “new world”, cultivating a personal connection may be a good idea.   Communicate and build relationships to ensure your business survives and thrives afterward.

.

In a recent post, I wrote about ten reasons a business needs an updated website. In this post, I would like to elaborate a little bit more as to why you should consider my suggestion(s). As an email marketing specialist and content writer for small to medium-sized businesses, I want to talk to you about something super important for your website: optimizing it for mobile devices. Nowadays, almost everyone uses their smartphones and tablets to browse the internet. That's why having a website that is mobile-friendly is so crucial. It provides a better user experience and can improve your search engine rankings, making it easier for potential customers to find your site. A responsive design is one way to ensure your website is mobile-friendly. . This means your site's layout and content automatically adjust to fit any device’s screen size. Pretty cool, right? Another way to optimize your site for mobile is by optimizing images. Large images can slow down your site's load time, which can be frustrating for mobile users. So, compress images and reduce their file size without sacrificing quality. Simplifying navigation is another crucial factor for mobile optimization. Use clear, concise labels for your menus, and make sure they're easy to access from any device. This can help mobile users find what they're looking for quickly and easily. Testing your website on multiple devices is also a good idea. This will help you identify any issues that must be addressed to ensure your site looks and functions nicely across all devices. Lastly, prioritize speed. Mobile users expect websites to load quickly, so minimizing the use of large images and videos, using browser caching, and compressing your code can all help reduce your site's load time. . So, there you have it! Optimizing your website for mobile devices is essential for providing a positive user experience, improving search engine rankings, and driving conversions and sales. As an email marketing specialist and content writer for small to medium-sized businesses, I encourage you to consider these tips and make sure your website is optimized for mobile. . Your competitors may have updated their websites, which can make your site look outdated in comparison. Updating your website can help to ensure that you stay competitive and that your business stays relevant in today's digital landscape.

Topics covered: What is Content Marketing Blogging Defined When to Consider Content Marketing vs Blogging As I get more and more into this thing we call “Digital Marketing”, I try to tell my clients and prospects that they need to start blogging. Then I get asked, what’s the difference between “blogging and content marketing”? . Ok, so let’s talk about this. The terms are used interchangeably when they are not the same (at least not 100%).

How Email Marketing Works in 2021
By John R Ramos 11 Jun, 2021
I am sure you do know that building awareness for your business is important. But how do you stand out and actually get the attention you need to reach new customers and generate new opportunities? Building awareness means having a way to stay top-of-mind with existing clients, and being able to reach potential clients in the process. Email marketing can help you communicate and share industry updates with your existing clients. It can grow into one of your biggest assets for brand awareness. People will talk about your business because somehow, they heard about your business, thru an email that was sent to one of their friends and so now it becomes word-of-mouth advertising. [Not a bad thing to have happened] If you’ve been struggling to get the reach you’re looking for, email marketing can help. Consider these four tips to help you get started:

If you’re like many of the business owners I talk to, social media marketing feels overwhelming. And it often feels like you’re spinning your wheels — doing a lot of activity across many channels with little to show for it. Don’t worry, you’re not alone, it’s a common frustration. Luckily, a lot of this frustration can be alleviated by busting a few common social media marketing myths when it comes to myths vs reality. Ultimately, social media should allow you to generate awareness, engagement, and action for your business that you wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. You should reserve your business name on the important social channels so you have it. But you don’t have to be active everywhere. That’s why we recommend starting with one channel that makes sense for your business. Ideally, choose a primary social channel based on the clients you’re trying to reach. Also, consider what channel you’re most comfortable using and how it fits with the personality of your business.
